Fast Tunable Biological Fluorescence Detection Device with Integrable Liquid Crystal Filter

Detecting a variety of biological samples accurately and swiftly in an integrated way is great practical significance. Currently, biofluorescent spectrum detection still largely relies on microscopic spectrometers. In this study, we propose integrable method to detect spectrums with designed liquid crystal tunable filter (LCTF), order identify typical such as cells bacteria. Hela labeled red green fluorescent proteins Pseudomonas fluorescence wavelengths 610 nm, 509 nm 450 respectively, are inspected. High-resolution (6 μm) results have been achieved, together clear images the cell clusters bacteria colonies. Biofluorescence signals can be detected at high transmittance (above 80%), response time device reach 20 ms or below. The proposed has potential into microfluidic system throughput, low-cost option, for both resolution large field observation applications.
